WHO WE ARE

The South Carolina Juneteenth Freedom Fest is driven by our mission to honor our ancestors, commemorate their emancipation, and empower their descendants through initiatives that foster economic growth, community redevelopment, societal advancement, improved health, and educational efforts.

Our vision and commitment is to honor our ancestors by creating ways for economic, social, education, health and community efforts.

The South Carolina Juneteenth Freedom Fest was founded in 2017 by Rabiyyah Carmen Terborg and Jamal Bradley. Since our inaugural event, we have seen consistent growth in attendance, community involvement, and economic impact.

Learn about the history of Juneteenth and stare your knowledge with others. Educate yourself on the experiences of enslaved people and the ongoing fight for racial justice.

Support Black-Owned businesses and organizations in your community. This can be a powerful way to help build economic empowerment and uplift Black voices.

Attend a Juneteenth celebration or organize one in your community. This can be a great way to honor the holiday and bring people together in support of Black liberation.

Advocate for policies that promote racial equity and justice. This can include supporting initiatives such as police reform, voting rights, and reparations.
